It's Sunflower Season in Wisconsin!

Every year, right about this time, here in Wisconsin, we start seeing big round balls of yellow against the sky. No, it's not the elusive sun we seek all winter (although we are delighted to see that too!); it's the sunflowers making their annual showing.

Kelly Country Creamery opened its sunflower fields this past Monday. Although smaller than other sunflower fields, this one is unique in that all proceeds support the Northeast Wisconsin "Old Glory Honor Flights" organization. The fields are open from 11 am - 8 pm every day. There is a suggested donation of $3 per person. Cut sunflowers are available for sale, and don't forget the ice cream before you leave! The fields are dog friendly.

This Friday (the 29th), Bergsbaken Farms opens its doors for its annual Sunflower Fest. Every year this festival gets bigger and bigger. There are massive sunflower fields with viewing platforms. Bounce houses and activities for the kids. Concessions, a craft sale area, and sunflower products (seeds, oil, etc.) are for sale. This year they are also adding live music. The suggested donation is a $2 per person donation. The festival runs 10 am - 4 pm Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The festival is dog friendly.

Every year, Eugster's Farm Market hosts their annual Sunflower Days. The farm boasts 15 acres of sunflower fields along with another 15 acres of a petty zoo. The fields are open daily (closed Tuesdays) from 10 am - 5 pm. Admission is $8.50 per person (children under 1 are free) and includes access to the sunflowers and the petty zoo. Only service animals are allowed.

Each adult admission includes a souvenir cup that you can fill with cut sunflowers (bring your scissors!) There will be concessions, live music, and mini photo sessions.
